Sultan R. Alshawa


Sultan Alshawa is a trial attorney at the firm’s Pasadena office. Mr. Alshawa’s practice focuses on general liability defense, public entity defense, product liability defense, and professional liability. Mr. Alshawa’s public entity defense includes representing public entities and their employees in matters involving dangerous conditions of public property, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and misconduct. 

Mr. Alshawa received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, where he graduated magna cum laude

At Southwestern Law School, Mr. Alshawa held the position of lead articles editor for the Southwestern Journal of International Law. He also filled several teaching assistant positions and was a volunteer instructor for the Street Law Clinic, teaching legal education to at-risk youth.

Prior to joining Collins + Collins, Mr. Alshawa gained experience at a civil defense litigation firm, primarily focused on automobile and premises liability claims. In addition, Mr. Alshawa was a fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”) Fellowship program, where he had the opportunity to clerk for The Honorable Ruth Ann Kwan, Michael L. Stern, and Susan Bryant-Deason of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Mr. Alshawa is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), and the Arab American Lawyers Association of Southern California (AALASC).
